The Green Academy curriculum has been designed by Tucson Unified School District teachers to extend classroom learning into the school garden. Developed around the principles of place-based education, the curriculum while connecting students in the Sonoran Desert region to the people and places in which they live, is easily adaptable to other contexts. The content of the lessons ranges from math and science to literacy, art and culture for grade levels pre-K through high school. Each lesson is consistent with the national standards of the Core Curriculum and promotes deeper learning through practical application in real-world experiences and problem-solving.
