With support from Sprouts Healthy Community Foundation, each year the School Garden Workshop works with a collaborating school garden support organization to embark on the creation of their own eco-regional school gardener's almanac. Based on one of SGW's guiding enduring understandings, we know "Local knowledge is the best knowledge" and feel the almanac has the ability to positively impact the way learners engage with their education far beyond the sonoran desert. Using the framework conceptualized by SGW, partner organizations identify the region they will focus on, tune into local seasonality, and connect to their network of knowledge holders to build a resource that supports and celebrates their specific community.
