Mansfeld Magnet Middle School

Mansfeld Magnet Middle School

Mansfeld maintains two raised-bed container gardens in its interior courtyard. These beds were built by the GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) club and SGW in 2015 and are planted and harvested each semester. This garden space is also utilized by the SEEC program, which has collaborated with Mansfeld since 2013. The SEEC program has recently been working on the Mansfeld Platt Perimeter Walk located on Santa Rita Avenue parallel to the school. Mansfeld students have used this walk to label and observe a series of native plant species in collaboration with the USA National Phenology Network. Our main contact at Mansfeld is 6th grade science teacher Susan Sumner.
