Whitmore Elementary
We’ve been working with Whitmore for two and a half years now. They have a sizable vegetable garden that is mostly run by a few classes of second graders, a program that composts food scraps from the cafeteria every Friday, a vermicompost set up, a hydroponic grow tower (google it). They’d like help working with groups of second graders in the garden and in the classroom working on garden-related lessons (mostly on Friday morning), with giving presentations to all the classes (K-4th grade) on composting and recycling, compost collection and management on Fridays, and helping the 4th grade classes out with the vermicompost and hydroponic tower.
